After I completed the construction of my shed at the bottom of my garden I decided to set up and participate in the old traditional art of woodturning. After carrying out research I soon came to realise that there is a lot more to woodturning than can be taught overnight. As the art of turning is a traditional craft and slowly fading out I set out to create modernturnings which incorporates unusual designs and techniques that can be carried out on the lathe. Creating something out of wood or acrylic can provide you with a great sense of sastisfaction. Woodturning as a hobby can be good fun and can be adapted to suit many different applications.
